Two injured in a single-car crash into CT home, person briefly entrapped

Two people were injured and were rushed to the hospital following a single-vehicle crash that ended in a Branford home early Sunday morning.

The Branford Police Department, Branford Fire Department and EMS responded shortly after 2 a.m. in the area of 11 Brushy Plain Road, according to the Branford Fire Department.

First responders arrived to the single-vehicle crash and the automobile had left the roadway, rolled over and struck the house.

Officers and EMTs entered and found the dwellings’ lone occupant was entrapped and seriously injured.

Paramedics provided on-scene emergency care to the home’s occupant. Both the driver and the person in the home were transported to Yale New Haven Hospital by the Branford Fire Department ambulance.

Officials said the residence sustained significant damage and was uninhabitable. The current condition of the patients is unknown. No injuries to any emergency responders were reported.

The crash remains under investigation by the Branford Police Department.
