Week 2 high school football: CCC matchups in spotlight as conference play starts cranking up

It’s Week 2 of high school football in Connecticut and conference play is getting underway with several CCC games of note. The two teams haven’t played since 2022 when Berlin won 37-34 on a Josh Grimm field goal with two seconds left in the game at Bloomfield. Ryan Lavender, who sat out the entire season due to an injury last year, rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown last week in a 50-12 win over New London,
